Exploring The Core

Use SMART Goals to help students track individual short-term student goal-setting. Set class-wide long-term goals (e.g. fluency, multiplication facts, AR scores, etc) and have all students track their individual progress. Review the questions on this student form to help students know what makes an effected SMART Goal.

Many teachers refer to Bloom's Taxonomy *or* Webb's Depth of Knowledge as a basis for differentiating instruction. Exploring The Core dives into the correlation of these two ideas in a poster called "Depth of Bloom's Taxonomy". This large poster illustrates how the VERBS in Bloom's Taxonomy can be applied to levels of COMPLEXITY in Webb's Depth of Knowledge to ensure that student assessment activities and projects are being recorded according to the appropriate cognitive rigor.
