This product contains three documents:
1. A timeline under which to complete the interview, including mini-deadlines for all parts of the interview process.
2. An interview agreement form.
3. A list of creative, unique interview questions.
While designed for a yearbook staff, any journalsim staff or English class could use this as an assignment.
This assignment directs students to review current photo essays that have been published online and then provides directions for the student to create and submit a personal photo essay.
Included in this document are directions on how to evaluate a published photo essay, probing questions to brainstorm a photo essay topic and directions for completing and submitting a photo essay.

This quiz was written to assess the close reading of Act 2 and 3 of Hamlet. Out of 35 questions presented on the quiz, very few test the basic plot. Instead, students are asked to analyze key lines, turning events, figurative language and characterization that are presented in these two acts.
This activity pulls 14 direct quotes from Jane Eyre which represent the entire mystery of Bertha Mason, as Bronte presents it to the readers.
The quotes are out of order and the student is assigned to put the direct quotes in order, and annotate them, to piece together the information Bronte provides about Bertha Mason.
This activity requires close reading of the text and can be done after the students have read through chapter 27.

The outline focuses on both the concepts of Meaning and Idea taught in the text, as well as leads the students through a review of some of the poems included in the chapter.
Designed to allow seniors a moment to reflect on their entire high school career, this letter could be used as an end of year writing assignment on any grade level. The objective is for a student to craft a thoughtful, handwritten thank you letter. Students complete the included brainstorm prior to writing their letter and then craft their letter during the class period.
This activity leads students through a comparison of Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise" and Andra Day's "Rise Up". Students how each artist conveys the message of overcoming adversity. Additional connections to Gail Marquis and Vanessa Amorosi are also presented in this lesson. The lesson includes reading a poem, listening to the poet read the poem, listening to a contemporary song and reviewing a commercial.
Bronte slowly presents Edward Rochester to both Jane Eyre and the reader. With this activity, the reader is asked to re-read the passages in which Rochester is presented to the reader and evaluate how Jane felt about Rochester with this plot element. Students are then to also record how they, as the reader, felt about Rochester when they learn each new detail about him. This is a great review of the text and helps to streamline the information Bronte presents about Rochester as the reader first
