I have my students fold a piece of construction paper into 8 equal boxes. They build the number on the card using base ten blocks. In box one they will write the number, draw the base ten blocks, circle the groups of ten, and write the equation to match. Students do this with 8 different cards.

A great Thanksgiving themed math activity! This activity is a great activity to practice addition from 5-20. This center would be perfect in your kindergarten and first grade classroom. The set includes 5-20 numbered turkeys and sorting addition equations written on turkey feathers. Directions: Students will play with a partner. Each partner will take 7 cards. Place the remaining cards face down in a pile .Each player will flip over one of their cards and the person with the larger amount keeps both cards. Continue until one player has no more cards left.
