This activity can be used as a small group activity during math centers. Students will choose a card and build that number using base ten blocks. I have my students fold a piece of construction paper into 8 equal boxes. They build the number on the card using base ten blocks. In box one they will write the number, draw the base ten blocks, circle the groups of ten, and write the equation to match. Students do this with 8 different cards.

Math:
Roll and Remove Game: (addition to 12)
Both players start with a counter (or candy corn) covering each number on their number line. Each player rolls the dice and adds the two numbers together to find out which counter to remove. If the player rolls a sum that’s already been removed from his/her number line, the player loses a turn and passes the dice. The first player to remove all of his/her counters from their number line wins the game.

A great Thanksgiving themed math activity!
This activity is a great activity to practice addition from 5-20. This center would be perfect in your kindergarten and first grade classroom. The set includes 5-20 numbered turkeys and sorting addition equations written on turkey feathers. Students will lay turkeys across the floor and they will select one turkey feather at a time, determine the answer to the equation on the front of the feather, and attach the feather to the appropriate turkey.
