This worksheet is designed to work with the Pillars of Athenian Democracy SmartBoard lesson, and / or with the Voices in Democracy textbook. Through this file, students will explore / review the three "Pillars of Athenian Democracy," which included The Assembly, The Council of 500, and The Courts. An answer page has been included at the end of the file. I hope you enjoy!

In Grade 6 Social Studies, Albertans learn about how democracy works in our local and provincial government. To accompany the textbook that many teachers and students use, "Voices in Democracy," I have created these booklets that tie in with several of the key chapters. These booklets make for a great study resource, and allow students to work within the textbook, identifying key parts of the chapters as they learn about democracy!

This test is designed to help supplement your final assessment for Democracy in Ancient Athens, based on the Grade 6 Social Studies curriculum. It can be used as a standalone test, or as part of a larger test if you desire!

This assessment is designed to supplement the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms information, from the Grade 6 Democracy program. It is worth a total of 42 marks (feel free to adjust, of course!) and consists of a variety of question types, including: True/False, Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blank, Short Answer. The answer guide is included as well. If there are any issues with the assessment, please let me know!

This unit booklet includes notes and activities encompassing the origin of Democracy as a form of government in Ancient Athens. The answer key has been provided.

This student work booklet is designed to be used alongside "Chapter 5: How Does Local Government Work", in the Voices in Democracy textbook, published by Pearson. It includes fill in the blank sections, activities, and review possibilities that can be used to help teach the Local Government unit.

This worksheet can be used to help teach the students about the different forms of decision making, such as Autocratic, Lottery, Consensus, Representative Democracy, and Majority Rules. It includes a page for the students to find the definition of each word, and a few activities where they can put those types of Decision Making to work!

In this activity, students are asked to help their local government balance a budget. The government is currently over budget, and the students must help decide what changes to make, and give a detailed reason for those changes! There is an added math place value activity attached.

At the end of the lesson, there is an activity for students. The name of the town can be easily changed to wherever you like!
