This is a fun way to practice the comprehension skill of cause and effect!This activity can be used as a whole group activity or literacy center/Daily 5 station. Students will match up the cause and effect and construct a paper chain (pattern: cause, effect, cause effect…). Materials needed are scissors and glue.

This passage includes short and long vowels, blends, digraphs and bossy r words. Assess each phonics skill individually using the color coded copy. This reading passage is a great way to assess students on their phonics skills while using the words in context! Included is a color coded teacher copy, black and white teacher copy and black and white enlarged student copy.
