These cards were created as a review of VA state symbols for my first grade class. It covers the symbols outlined in the SOL's as well as a few additional cards. You can print the cards, laminate them, and cut them out. Then students place them face down to play memory with a partner and match up the symbols.

This Walk Around activity was created as a review of the following concepts: time, money, growing patterns, fractions, and basic operations. It is a great review for the second half of the school year. I make a copy of the first page for all students. Then I print the question cards on cardstock and cut them apart. Fun way to practice spelling and math skills at the same time. Students write their spelling or word study words on the lines and then use the Scrabble tiles to find the "score" of each word.

This document can be used to record scientific observations and conclusions for the mystery sphere experiment. The mystery sphere is the Gobstopper candy. Students drop it in water and observe as the colors come off the candy. This activity fits nicely into a unit on interactions with water (VA SOL 1.3)

This is a sort to practice fact families. It was made as a challenge for the higher first grade students in my class as it has some equations with missing numbers.
