14 years in education after a Computer Programming career. Started teaching Middle School Music, then Technology education, then made the jump to full time Media Specialist. Fell in love with the Promethean board and dove head first into making interactive activities that accommodate both visual and auditory learning styles. I concentrate on making interactive activities to support ESOL learners, along with creating games and activities that support K-5 classroom science and social studies lessons as they seem to be under taught in this reading/math obsessed learning environment.

This Promethean ActivInspire flipbook activity allows learners to practice separating vowels from consonants. Each screen has an assortment of letters on it and the learner has to drag the vowels fully into the green box. Consonants will not stay in the green box. Experience

14 years in education after a Computer Programming career. Started teaching Middle School Music, then Technology education, then made the jump to full time Media Specialist. Fell in love with the Promethean board and dove head first into making interactive activities that accommodate both visual and auditory learning styles. Teaching style

I use self made games that run on the Promethean ActivInspire software. The games can be played on the interactive whiteboard or by the student on a student computer with headphones. I love to slip jokes into my patter, either for the students, or the teachers. I also try to make all my games as much fun as possible for the students, If it ain't fun, I am done. Students who are having fun are going to retain what they are learning.

Awards & shining teacher moments

2012 Teacher of the Year.

My own education history

1989 Computer Science Degree. 2009 School Library Media Degree from the University of Georgia.

Additional biographical information

I love technology and LOVE creating Promethean ActivInspire flipcharts that turn those expensive projectors into the FUN, INTERACTIVE learning experiences. Students love them, teachers love them, and administration LOVES seeing the technology being used for what it was designed for. Making these games is a lot of work and take a lot of time. Most teachers do not have the time to put towards making these, what with your purple progress folders and green grade folders, and oh yea, student X's mother is coming in during your planning to find out why he can't do his homework, and also TEACHING. You and your students can enjoy the fun, interactive, and educational experience these flipcharts provide without all the hassle of actually making them. I am always open to requests for flipcharts, just contact me with your idea/needs and I'll see what I can do.
