About the store
I have had a whirlwind of experience! I student taught in 4th and then got hired at the same school to teach 3rd! I then moved to 1st grade for the next year. First grade captured my heart! I love the growth made during first grade, and it is so exciting to serve as a guide in this important point in a student's learning. After four years in first, I was ready for a new challenge and moved to kindergarten! It may be my favorite spot yet! Because of this diversity in experience, you'll notice my store has products geared toward 3rd grade learners as well as K-1!

Counting Money Task Cards

This file contains money counting task cards for American currency. This was created for use in a first grade classroom, so this covers coins adding up to $1.00. I use this in my class as part of a math center. For each amount there is a card that asks students to create that amount using school coins and a card that shows the coins and asks for the amount. I double side the cards to allow students to check their own work. This file also includes a coin sorting mat and a recording sheet. I

Teaching style

I do my best to keep things hands on and exciting! I do both guided math and guided reading, so we are constantly using centers to learn new material as well as spiral our curriculum.

Awards & shining teacher moments

None...yet!

My own education history

I am a graduate of Indiana University. I had the opportunity to complete their Cultural Immersion Program, and was able to spend half of my student teaching in Oxfordshire, England! Of course, the best teacher has been time. I have learned so much in my six years of teaching from my students, my colleagues, and from reflecting on myself. I can't wait to see what the next thirty years teach me!

Additional biographical information

I loved school as a child. I loved learning. I loved becoming a confident reader. I loved having my curiosity stoked. This is my aim for my students. I want to help create eager, confident learners. Every day I try to show my class that learning is exciting and that learning can take you anywhere you want to go!
