About the store
I have taught in Chicago Public Schools for the past 5 years. All of my time has been spent in the inner city, at low-income/high poverty schools. My first year in CPS was spent as an NWEA interventionist. I used student's RIT scores on the learning continuum to push students towards attainment. I am currently the Math Lead at my school, A 3rd grade teacher, and a Teacher Facilitator for my network. This entails leading Math professional developments for other teachers within my network on areas of need/new content. At my school, I collaborate with teachers on Math content implementation in their rooms. This is done in conjunction with leading my own current 3rd grade classroom.

Mother's Day

Created by
Fluency King
A short Mother's Day activity for K-5. Students can draw a self portrait or a portrait of themselves with their mother. They can also list some favorite moments below the illustration. This serves as a quick and inexpensive gift for mothers on Mother's day.

Teaching style

Building a relationship and a strong rapport with students is the way to go in my opinion. Activities and lessons are pointless without having an established level of trust with all of your students. I incorporate the GRR (Gradual Release of Responsibility) fully into my daily lessons.

My own education history

I attended both public and private schools growing up. I started off at a private university in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to state Universities for future work.
