These were created to use in conjunction with Orton Gillingham strategies. The hand is a placement for the learner to "pound out" each syllable and tap out each sound they hear with their fingers. They will pound and tap with their non writing hand and use their other hand to write the sounds they hear in the elkonin boxes. This activity can be laminated and used with dry erase markers to be used again and again! There are templates for right handed learners and left handed learners as well.

This a great game for boys or girls or any learner that loves cars! You can use any small toy cars and move each sound into the parking lot as you read. The learner can write the word in the boxes and then practice sounding out the word as they "park" each car. This is a great hands on way to help students to isolate each sounds and blend the word!
