I have been teaching for the past 13 years in early childhood education. I have taught prek, kindergarten, ELL's, and dual language immersion. I have taught a variety of backgrounds and learning abilities which I feel aids in improving and fine tuning our teaching skills.

These were created to use in conjunction with Orton Gillingham strategies. The hand is a placement for the learner to "pound out" each syllable and tap out each sound they hear with their fingers. They will pound and tap with their non writing hand and use their other hand to write the sounds they hear in the elkonin boxes. This activity can be laminated and used with dry erase markers to be used again and again! There are templates for right handed learners and left handed learners as well.

I have always had a passion for making learning fun and engaging. The world is constantly changing and so are the new and innovating ways to educate young minds. Being adaptive and flexible in teaching is key to becoming the best educator you can possibly be.
