This is a set of 24 winter based reading task cards. There is a short passage on each card with 1 or 2 cause and effect questions on it. There are different types of fiction and nonfiction texts. This is a set of 48 nonfiction cards and 12 biography cards that students can use to respond to nonfiction texts. They can be used for you to ask during whole group as higher order thinking questions (HOT), during small group guided reading, or during center/task time for students to respond to in journals for SSR or DEAR time. They can be printed in color or black and white on card stock to last if you laminate and cut out. They could be used as HOT ?s in whole group or small group, task cards, or responses during SSR or DEAR time in journals. Just place them in a central location or in baggies at teams or groups.
