About the store
I have been an educator for more than 20 years. I taught English Composition, creative writing, and many literature courses at the college level for many years. As an author of children's picture books, I have done multiple workshops with children of every level, from PreK to grade 12. I have also spent quite a lot of time designing and teaching writing courses to adults, particularly teachers. Much of this type of work has been done through the Owl Teacher Center in Lindenhurst, New York. Most recently (Spring 2014), I taught a six-week writing workshop to the fifth graders at Saints Cyril and Methodius School in Deer Park, NY.

Teaching style
I interact with young students, teachers, and adult participants in a very casual, inclusive way. I believe a student--at any age--is learning (and will remember) the most when that student is actively engaged and immersed in the process. I enjoy bringing high energy and creativity to any topic in any room, encouraging students to truly understand the material in a personal way, so that they can apply what they've learned in all types of environments.
