Teaching 'Countdown' by Deborah Wiles? This document includes vocabulary and questions for every chapter. Also, check out my Countdown Reflection project.

This is a complete teaching set for the book Millions by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. It includes question handouts for each chapter as well as a page of 7 different project choices for students to choose from.

This activity is meant to be completed at the start of a Great Depression Inquiry unit. Students will have had a BRIEF introduction to the Depression but will use this gallery walk to create more questions for an inquiry project. First, I use a quick depression simulation then I show a short video clip that discusses the causes of the Depression. You don't have to use this product in conjunction with an inquiry project however. You can use it as an anticipation activity. The inquiry project

Use this anticipation guide to introduce the major topics of WWII. After you complete your unit, students will go back and change their answers while also citing textual evidence to prove their answers.

Teaching a unit on songwriting? This handout includes information on all parts of the song, tips for writing original songs and then lyrics to some popular songs for students to re-write as practice.

Book by Christopher E. Crowe - This contains key vocabulary for each chapter as well as discussion questions.

Practice sheet that presents students with 10 different scenarios. Students choose whether they agree or disagree with the scenario based on what they have learned and then they write which amendment is shown in the scenario. Answer key included.

This combination of games can be used with any novel. Have students create a set of cards for the characters in the novel they are reading. They can then use the cards to quiz their classmates individually or as a whole class activity. They can also use the cards for a matching game or as a study reference.

After reading 'Countdown' by Deborah Wiles, have students create an independent reflection project. This gives students a choice in their learning while also making sure they hit the key points that are important to you. Rubric is included. Make sure to check out by 'Countdown' questions and vocabulary as well.

Print these bookmarks on card stock and give each student one of each. Assign students due dates for each of the four bookmarks. Reminds students about reading strategies while they are reading.

This is a review game for the whole class after you have finished reading the book. It's called Bluff and kids love it! Included are the rules to the game as well as 28 questions and answers to play with. This is easily customizable if you want to add your own questions.
