I created this worksheet to help 2nd grade students add change up to a dollar. It gives them 7 bakery items with various prices and then a worksheet for them to complete by choosing bakery items that add up to a dollar.

I created this organizer for my 2nd grade math class because a school-wide goal was for students to fully respond to short constructed response questions in an organized manner. This included responses to story or word problems. The organizer can also be used for other types of SCRs as well.

Experience
After having taught in traditional schools for several years, I switched to a project based learning school two years ago. I discovered that building projects was a strength of mine I never knew I had! Now, I wouldn't teach any other way.
Teaching style
I prefer to set projects up for kids and let them do the learning. I leave breadcrumbs along the way to help pave their path to the learning goals, but they do all the work. Project based learning requires a lot of front-loading, but then, I can step back and let the students learn. I guide them and facilitate their learning process, but in the end, they come to their own conclusions, not mine.
