I created this organizer for my 2nd grade math class because a school-wide goal was for students to fully respond to short constructed response questions in an organized manner. I created this sticker/behavior chart to help primary students track their behavior every 10 minutes. If they were on task, they got a sticker. If they weren't, they left it blank. They then had to assess themselves at the end of the day on how well they behaved during the day. My middle school students struggle with writing research essays. I have found they are lacking knowledge of the proper structure and the essential components of research papers. I wrote a sample research essay and then used PowerPoint to break down the components of the paper. It really helped a lot of students know exactly what I look for when they write research papers and it improved their writing. As always, this product is fully editable to fit your needs.

I have found that middle school students often don't know how to organize paragraphs in an argument essay so that they can cite textual evidence and their own experience evidence. I created this graphic organizer to help them properly structure an argument essay. It includes approximate number of sentences for each part of each paragraph, sentence stems, and transition words. Basically, they just choose one of the sentence stems and one of the transition words from the options on the organizer.

I used this goal road map to help my middle school students start to envision their future. There are text boxes for 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and 20 years. This is a final exam for the novel The Girls by Amy Goldman Koss. I couldn't find a final exam when I assigned the novel to my 6th graders so I wrote one myself. It includes character matching, multiple choice, short answer, and essay questions. Sorry, no answer key has been created for this product. All of my materials are fully editable to fit your needs.

One of my most successful projects last year was the Kindness Fair. The entry event I used was called Mission Possible. Students were required to do an act of kindness for someone and provide proof to me that they completed the "mission". They couldn't tell the person that their act of kindness was an assignment. The students LOVED this activity and I had nearly 100% completion rate.
