Factoring By Grouping Connect 4 Partner Activity WITH Scaffolded Guided Notes
This activity will help students to practice factor by grouping. Included is a set of guided notes and a connect 4 game. There are 30 problems in the connect four game for students to factor by grouping. Types of problems include factoring out a common number factor, variable factor and multi-variable factor. These 6 stations have students use their knowledge of exponents to move through the stations. Each station does build on the previous station, but they can still be done in any order. Students must know how to simplify expressions using: **Product Rule **Quotient Rule **Power Rule **Negative Exponents Stations 1-5 each have 7 problems, with the last problem being an error analysis problem, where the steps to solve a problem are laid out and students must identify the step where the error is and

Experience
I have been teaching and creating my own resources since 2014. I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 (including Pre-AP/Pre-IB), and Pre-Calculus. I have taught special education collaborative classes, honors classes and ESL classes.
Teaching style
I love for my notes to be organized and scaffolded, so students feel ready to tackle the hard problems when they get to them instead of being scared away. I try to use fun review games like Bingo, jeopardy, and other powerpoint/smartboard games to get students excited about the material! Task cards in the classroom is also a must! There are a million uses for them and they help break up the monotony of worksheets! I believe that my enthusiasm for math will motivate my students to succeed and begin to like math a little bit more in my classroom.

Additional biographical information
In addition to teaching, I love to read and be outside. I love traveling and I love going to the beach. If I wasn't a math teacher, I would have loved to be a science teacher, and I'm working towards being dual certified to teach math and science.
