Solving Systems of Equations By Graphing Christmas Math Color by Number Activity

Students will practice solving systems of equations by graphing. There are 8 problems for students to graph and solve. Students will then match their solutions to the chart and color those numbers with the indicated color. Two problems are already in slope-intercept form, while the last 6 need to be converted before graphing. All answers include integer answers and there is one no solution problem. Please check out the preview to make sure the problems are appropriate for your students. Check o

Domain & Range (continuous & discrete graphs/points/tables) Task Card Activity

For this activity, students will be practicing finding the domain and range of functions and relations, as well as identifying if relations are functions or not. Students have 18 task cards that range from tables, points, points on a graph and graphed relations. Then the last 9 task cards are asking students to draw relations that represent the described characteristics. This can be difficult for some students as there is more than one right answer. Students will have to think critically abou

Transformations of Graphs Task Card Activity (Square Root, Abs Value, Quadratic)

These task cards will help students become more comfortable with identifying and explaining transformations that are happening with graphs. This focuses on horizontal translations, vertical translations, horizontal stretches and compressions, and reflections about the x- and y- axes. For a couple of the task cards, students will graph the transformation as well as identifying the domain and range. The parent functions used are the quadratic function, square root function and absolute value func

Solve Systems of Equations By Graphing Riddle Activity

Students will solve 12 systems of equations by graphing. → 4 problems - both are in slope-intercept form → 6 problems – both equations are in standard form → 2 problems – both equations are not in any certain form, (ex: -2y+4=6x) • Once solving the system, students will find their answer and write the letter of the problem in the answer spot. Once finished, the letters will spell out the answer to the riddle. • Activity is self-checking as students will know if they have the wrong answer when i

Writing Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form Riddle Activity Algebra 1

This riddle activity has students writing linear equations in slope-intercept form, both from a graph and converting from standard form. There are 6 questions where students need to find the slope and y-intercept from a graph and 6 questions where students are converting from standard form. The last question requires students to match a graph to the equation in standard form, requiring them to do both converting and writing from a graph. After writing/converting the equation, students will find

Linear Inequality Station Activity

These stations will help students to practice solving and graphing inequalities. This is a great group activity to have them spread out around the room and have students rotate from station to station. There are some inequalities that have all real numbers as the solution, as well as some with no solution. Another way that I sometimes like to use them is to put them in sheet protectors (way cheaper and less time consuming than laminating) and have students complete with a dry erase marker. Onc

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching and creating my own resources since 2014. I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 (including Pre-AP/Pre-IB), and Pre-Calculus. I have taught special education collaborative classes, honors classes and ESL classes.

Teaching style

I love for my notes to be organized and scaffolded, so students feel ready to tackle the hard problems when they get to them instead of being scared away. I try to use fun review games like Bingo, jeopardy, and other powerpoint/smartboard games to get students excited about the material! Task cards in the classroom is also a must! There are a million uses for them and they help break up the monotony of worksheets! I believe that my enthusiasm for math will motivate my students to succeed and begin to like math a little bit more in my classroom.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My own education history

I have a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.Ed. in Secondary Mathematics Education (7-12)

Additional biographical information

In addition to teaching, I love to read and be outside. I love traveling and I love going to the beach. If I wasn't a math teacher, I would have loved to be a science teacher, and I'm working towards being dual certified to teach math and science. Questions about me or my products?
