About the store

Teaching style

Currently, my classroom consists of students who have severe medical needs and higher functioning special needs. This means my teaching style is unique to each student, usually one-to-one teaching and training their paraeducators how to carry out the skill. Teaching students in high school has motivated me to gear my students toward functional skills, rather than counting skills my students are learning how to sort items to stock a shelf or unload the dishwasher.

My own education history

I earned my Doctoral degree in Special Education Curriculum through Liberty University. I received my Bachelor and Masters degree in Special Education through Seattle Pacific University.

Additional biographical information

I love using my creativity to imagine new practices and techniques to help my students gain new skills to achieve independence to the maximum extent possible. I am happy to share the resources I have made to others as affordable options. My students surprise me every day with the new skills they show us and are awesome at proving people wrong about their disabilities-they are awesome at showing off their abilities. In my free time I enjoy playing with my pets, 4 cats and 2 dogs, crafting, woodworking with my husband, and traveling to Disney whenever we can.
