Shut the Box: A game of basic addition facts

Created by
FUNdamentals
This game is a perfect way to have your children or students practice their basic addition facts, and encourages students to be flexible with numbers. It is also a fun way to encourage strategic thinking. It aligns perfectly with the Common Core math standard addressing Operations and Algebraic Thinking. This game is kid tested and approved! After teaching this game to math groups, it is perfect to use as an idependent station and can be played over and over, as each game is a new experience.

Valentine Doubles and Doubles Plus One Math Center

Created by

This center is designed to be made into two file folder games. Both look the same, but one focuses on addition of doubles, and the other focuses on addition of doubles plus one. The game has a Valentine's Day theme, and includes instructions on assembly, and a print out with instructions, a title, and tabs so that the file folder game can be completely assembled.

About the store

Experience

I am currently a 1st grade teacher and I love it! I have 10 years of experience, teaching kindergarten, first, third, and fifth grade.

Teaching style

Because I work with young children, I believe that the more hands-on things can be, the better! Kids LOVE to be as fully involved as possible in their learning, and the more engaged a learner is, the more they own what they are learning.

Additional biographical information

In addition to teaching, I am a mom to three wonderful, very busy boys. I full appreciate the needs of active learners, and I'm always looking for ways to make my own job as a teacher more fun and exciting. I feel like this enthusiasm transfers to my students and benefits everyone!
