Factoring Trinomials When a = 1 & a ≠ 1

Created by
GajdosMath
This package teaches students how to factor trinomials. Students will review how to do product–sum factoring for simple polynomials of the form x^2 + bx + c (including a trick on the calculator to find factor pairs). There are two questions with video instructions illustrating this method, followed by 6 questions (with answers) to test their understanding. Students will also factor polynomials of the form ax^2 + bx + c. There are video instructions explaining the three different methods to fact

Teaching style

I like to teach students through connections to previous concepts with an emphasis on math rooted in geometry. I believe if students understand why we are learning a concept or how it is derived, they will make meaningful connections and achieve long lasting retention.

Additional biographical information

My resources are aligned with my YouTube channel GajdosMath. There are hundreds of free videos that teachers and students can use. They are great for previewing material taught in class and also useful for students who missed class.
