I have been teaching since 2009 and I have worked as an examiner marking national exams. I currently hold a position on the Post-16 and HE Committee at the Geographical Association. I have also presented at the annual conference of the Royal Geographical Society.
My specialist subject is Geography but I have also taught Business, History and Travel and Tourism.
I have taught a range of ages (age 5+) and qualifications (including the UK National Curriculum at KS3, A-levels, GCSE, IGCSE, BTEC and NCFE).

Where are Earth's plates?Students identify the names of the major and minor tectonic plates. Colour or black and white versions provided. Suitable for a task in lesson or for homework (I normally set as a homework and then follow-up with the quiz below in the next lesson). Students can then be tested using the Google Quiz: Extension task provided for stretch and challenge (labelling the direction of plate movement). Answer key included.

Students work in groups to remember key facts about the formation and characteristics of a tsunami.
2 page PDF document containing 8 fact cards with pictures
A small prize could be awarded to the person who can remember the whole thing most accurately, or if anyone can still remember it the next day.
The cards could also be stuck up on a wall or used as revision notes with the key facts and figures highlighted.
