Geometry Made Easy

This SmartBoard Mini lesson includes how to measure segments on a number line, the ruler postulate, examples and guided practice problems of the segment addition postulate, examples and guided practice problems given a midpoint or a segment bisector, and an exit card.

Students can work as partners or individually. Students must determine whether the given equations are parallel, perpendicular, the same line, or have no relationship.

This activity has students practice rotating about different points in the coordinate plane. You will have to label the vertices of the triangles with whatever letters you choose and select a point of rotation. I like to do points in each quadrant, on the axes, and at least one on the figure itself so the students can see that if the figure is on the point of rotation that that point doesn't move.

For this activity, you can post the problems around the room and I sometimes include the answer on the back of the page or simply wait until the activity is over and review the answers as a whole class. You can also turn it into a white board activity and give the students a certain amount of time to answer each question and then hold up their answers.

This SmartBoard mini lesson includes the parts of an angle, naming an angle, classifying whether an angle is acute, obtuse, right, or straight, defines the protactor postulate, uses an interactive protractor to measure angles in two ways, and includes a guided practice problem using the angle addition postulate Note the "f" you see on one of the slides is the protractor. Once you buy the item and open the file the f will go away.

Students are required to draw a diagram with the given information and prove two triangles congruent by both ASA and AAS.

Exit Card Assessment to see if students understood the Triangle Sum Theorem. There are three of the same question on one page to reduce the amount of copies needed.

This exponential function worksheet allows students to graph exponential functions on coordinate planes and analyze their behavior. Students will make conjectures about y-intercept, asymptotes, and how the behavior of a graph changes as the base increases or decreases.

This is a quick formative assessment of students' knowledge after a ratio and proportions lesson. It's posted in Word so you can make edits if you like some of the questions but want to exchange others.

This problems assesses student ability to correctly solve and identify errors in order of operations problems. Encourage your students to use mathematical terminology in the writing section of the problem.
