I love to develop Visual Strategies, which are evidence based interventions, to help children with a variety of disabilities. Social Narrative -A story about Hoarding My Stuff
Sometimes, for a variety of reasons, children are significantly attached to their "stuff." This story assists children in knowing the parameters for bringing their stuff to school, finding things in the school they want to keep, and where and when they can view their "stuff" so that they can still be successful at school. Sometimes, kids exhibit negative behavior because the work at school is too hard for them. This Social Narrative normalizes the feeling that sometimes school work is hard for everyone and gives the students some ways to get help. A summary is included of the main points from the story at the end to laminate and put on their desk if needed.

There was a shooting at my school-A social narrative story
On Jan. 23, 2018, there was a school shooting at Marshall Co. High School in Benton, KY. One student seriously injured was a member of a Low Incidence classroom. Naturally, all students were traumatized. I wrote this story and collaborated w the teacher of the Low Incidence classroom (named on the front cover) to develop this resource to assist these students in dealing with subsequent trauma. Teaching style
I don't teach in the classroom, but I would say my consultation with teachers is behaviorist in nature.

I am a wife, mom, step--mom, and a School Psychologist. I love buoy working in my flower garden, running, and going to the beach (or anywhere) with my friends and family. I also am passionate about school mental initiatives. Every student deserves to learn in a physically and psychologically safe environment. I look forward to working teachers, parents and administrators every day to assist students' emotional and academic development.
