Experience

I have been teaching for 17 years, and have loved every minute of it! Most of my years of teaching have been in 6th grade, but I have taught all levels of learners, SDC, RSP, at-risk, regular education, and gifted and talented. I currently teach a 5th/6th grade GATE blend and just love it! Challenging students to think deeply is my passion!

Teaching style

I taught with project based learning before it was the new buzzword! I love coming up with creative projects that challenge my learners, and promote deeper learning. All of my units are common core aligned for grades 4 thru 8, and all promote problem solving, critical thinking, and cooperation.

Additional biographical information

I really love technology and what it adds to the classroom. I think that it is critical that we teach students to use these tools effectively, never to use technology for the sake of technology.
