A card game for one or up to 21 players! I call these 21 multiplication facts the "turtle facts" with all the easy zeros, ones, twos, fives, and tens omitted. Only the most difficult to memorize or retrieve quickly are left. If you learn the 9's trick (description included), that leaves only 12 facts!!! Copy a single page or several front & back, then simply fold in half to create student booklets. Each page contains handwriting paper & a space at the top for illustration. This can also be used as a math, language arts, or even social studies or science resource. Pre-write the topic in the box, then have students generate extensions for that topic (example - COMMON NOUNS.... school, boy, paper 4,3,7 FACT FAMILY.... 3+4=7, 7-4=3, etc.).

This is an awesome resource for teaching students how to represent numbers using standard form, expanded form, and word form. After displaying on the LCD or Smartboard, simply input a number within the 4-square center and then SELECT-DRAG the numbers, number words, and base-10 visuals into the visual organizer. This can also be copied & distributed to the students to use simply as a spelling resource. The 4th square is designated "OTHER" to be used for additional illustration or number sentence

Introduce a mental math multiplication strategy using this template! Students use their knowledge of expanded form and digit values to multiply larger numbers. This is also a great way to help students understand the multiplication process & not just an algorithm.
