In groups of two, provide each student a copy. Partners will take turns choosing a homonym and reading aloud the bolded script, and then only one of the sentences below. Their partner will then spell the target word aloud based upon the context of the sentence. If correct, the caller will circle or star the bullet aside that sentence. If incorrect, the caller will spell the correction aloud and leave it blank in order that they can return to that sentence at a later time. When time is called, th
A card game for one or up to 21 players! I call these 21 multiplication facts the "turtle facts" with all the easy zeros, ones, twos, fives, and tens omitted. Only the most difficult to memorize or retrieve quickly are left. If you learn the 9's trick (description included), that leaves only 12 facts!!! If practicing alone, order the cards with their partners until all cards have been used. If practicing in a group, divide the cards between each player. Decide on the starter & have that person b

These cards can be used for students to practice the most common homophones in the context of a sentence. In groups of two, each student has a copy and takes turns choosing a sentence to read aloud to their partner, asking the correct spelling for the homonym that is underlined and bolded. If correct, the caller marks the first letter or initials of the student that spelled it correctly. If incorrect, leave blank and return to that same sentence during another turn. When time is up, the student
Just 1 copy makes 4! Use this point sheet template to motivate individual or small groups of students to actively participate & complete assignments. Given a specific goal, the students work towards achieving that number of stars daily or cumulatively to fulfill their token economy system or other behavioral motivator. This is a word document, therefore changes to target behaviors can be done with ease.
Copy a single page or several front & back, then simply fold in half to create student booklets. Each page contains handwriting paper & a space at the top for illustration.
This can also be used as a math, language arts, or even social studies or science resource. Pre-write the topic in the box, then have students generate extensions for that topic (example - COMMON NOUNS.... school, boy, paper 4,3,7 FACT FAMILY.... 3+4=7, 7-4=3, etc.).
This is an awesome resource for teaching students how to represent numbers using standard form, expanded form, and word form. After displaying on the LCD or Smartboard, simply input a number within the 4-square center and then SELECT-DRAG the numbers, number words, and base-10 visuals into the visual organizer. This can also be copied & distributed to the students to use simply as a spelling resource. The 4th square is designated "OTHER" to be used for additional illustration or number sentence
Introduce a mental math multiplication strategy using this template! Students use their knowledge of expanded form and digit values to multiply larger numbers. This is also a great way to help students understand the multiplication process & not just an algorithm.
Prepare those students for CRCT bubbling! These 20 A-D bubbles are slightly larger than what's provided during state testing & provides great transferring and shading practice.
On these 6 pages, there are 12 verbs containing 3 tenses (past, present, future). Each page can be split in half to provide each student (or student pair, if whole group) a verb list to create a sentence, or even use to fill-in-the-blank as the teacher calls a sentence aloud.
Given a state almanac, students can use this 6-part visual organizer to locate & display important information on the state's capital, location, state flag, economic earnings, events, & recreational spots. Once complete, cover the state & capital (1st square) with a sticky note, and have the students try to guess the state each belongs to as an activity extension.
Given a goal, students earn points with a a single hand-held hole-punch. Once their card is complete, they can cash in! This works well in combination with a token economy or to motivate whole groups of students to reach book goals, skill mastery, homework expectations, & more!
