Here is a informational writing template you can use to help students understand the basics of writing about informational texts. I used this while introducing the topic of informational texts in order to help get them started on learning the correct way to write about a piece of information.
Happy Halloween! In no way do I claim this activity/experiment to be my idea. This is how I adapted the activity. Your download will come with two pages for students to fill out while doing the experiment and simple instructions for you, the teacher, to use. Please let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy this fun freebie!
Sometimes I can find it difficult to pull out my phone during lessons to either give or take away points. I have found that using a clip chart has made it so much easier to hold myself accountable for managing class points! At the end of the day, I see where each students' pin is at and record the points. I have a class job where a student resets the clips for me so everyone starts at "Ready to Learn!" I hope you find this simple, yet useful management tool to be a great addition to your classr
I love doing this activity with my students at the beginning of the year. It's a great way to get kids moving out of their seats and get to know their classmates. As the teacher, even I join in on the fun! Depending on class size, they should try to not repeat any student names on their paper. However, you can play it so they can't repeat the same name more than twice!
These notes follow along to the Math Expressions curriculum, but can be used in any classroom. You can print these out as a full sheet of paper for students to work on along with you, or, how I do it, you can print them out, trim them and have students glue them into a math notebook. By doing this, students have something to refer to throughout the school year. I consider these to be "mini lessons" where you teach the lesson in a brief amount of time (about 15-20 minutes) before having students
I created this colorful, yet simple name tag to be used in the classroom. I added the multiplication chart for my fourth graders to reference if needed. However, everything in the file is completely editable so you are able to delete and change what you wish. There are 30 already completed name tags. Simply click in the text boxes to change the names :)
This pledge is something my students and I say every day during morning meeting. Students quickly memorize it, and it becomes the classroom rules we live by. I hope you can find this useful for your classroom!
