About the store

Experience

I've taught a variety of subjects at differing levels and ages from preschool to college. My passion is science. I started out teaching freshman college chemistry, moved to high school (biology and chemistry), and now teach 4th and 5th grade science. I also worked in industry as a chemist for 9 years.

Teaching style

My teaching style is hands-on, incorporating multiple learning styles and methods. I believe it is important that the teacher creates a trusting and respectful environment in which students work together as active learners to develop a sense of purpose for understanding and learning science. The teacher must serve as a role model by respecting differing ideas, attitudes, and values. The key to success is to create enthusiasm and interest about the world of science, while incorporating technology and innovation in the classroom.
