Three very catchy songs. The Part-Part-Whole Song is sung to the Farmer and the Dell. The Addition Song contains the important vocabulary such as "addends" and "sum". And the counting song is sung to Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
This worksheet is accompanied by a letter to parents, telling them about the strategy I teach their students to use during double digit subtraction. This is a strategy that ultimately can be done mentally. We call it, "Take Away 10's, then 1's." So, for example, in 50-28, we say 50-20=30, then 30-8=22.
By request I have written a song to accompany my addition Part Part Whole song. If you plan on writing this on chart paper, make sure you use different colors for the words WHOLE and PART.
