This is a career investigations Help Wanted Poster Project that my students loved last year. Students can complete this two-part project independently, with a partner or in a small group. In Career Investigations, we often discuss new vocabulary prior to or during a lesson. For example, students learn about interest, talents, skills, and values or career, job, occupation, employee and employer. You can have your students brain dump about the vocabulary words to show what they retained from the lesson. I did this brain dump before a quiz. Students took turns sharing and use this as a review. I like offering the option to write or draw to meet the needs of different learners.

This can be used as a two sided handout or you can make a packet by making multiple copies of page two and attaching them to page 1. Then, post your daily writing prompt or daily question on your whiteboard at the start of the period. As a Career Investigations teacher, I was tasked with bringing math into my classroom. I created math word problems in which students can see exactly how math will play a role in their future careers. On this handout students can write the name of the career from the math word problem and have space to solve the problem and record the answers. Be on the look out for my Math At Work tasks cards. These can be displayed as a daily bell work or bell ringer task.
