There are 26 word problems that cover order of operations, input/output tables, and ordered pairs. All 26 word problems have a corresponding answer sheet. On the written equations part answers can vary, as proven by my students this past week. The problems range from easy to hard.

This is a set of 20 common core mixed fractions word problems. With this set there are 12 cards that correspond to the correlating word problems that allow students to write their own word problem. 8 of the cards are for students to create their own word problem and draw their own picture.
This activity involves animal behaviors. It allows students to understand instinctve behaviors and behaviors that are taught. Students will view the power point. Then hey will complete a follow-up activity where they will choose an animal and explain the animals instinctive behaviors verse the taught behaviors. I allow my studentsto type it up and add pictures.
This is a fun real world project which focuses on area. Students will become realators and on the hit T.V. series House Hunters. They will have to decided on three house out of six to show to the buyer. This is a fun packet if you are studying fractions before Thanksgiving. Students have to apply knowledge of skills learned. This packet really makes them think.
This is an excellent activity for students to compose as review. Students will master skills that they have previously learned.
his activity includes two pages of directions written for students. They will not only make a game board but they will write up their own directions for following the format given. Students can also play thier games before End Of Grade Testing.
This is a 4 week review packet I put together for my stuents. It has a math word problem. Students will break down the major components for each word problem, create their own, and write and explain how they solved the word problem. Then there is a review sheet that focuses on numeration, multiplication, decimals, geometry, perimeter and area.
I normally print page 1 and 2 front and back and give it to the students to complete within a week.
This is an activity students will really enjoy. They will race reindeers down a string and measure the distance that each reindeer travels. My students love this activity. It is great for any center or for whole group.
This is a great activity for math centers or just a Christmas related activity to reinforce equivalent fractions. Students will match the front end of the reindeer to the back end of the reindeer. The front and back ends are equivalent fractions. Normally I allow my students to take a picture with a ipad/ipod and thats how I check their progress.
This activity is fun around Thanksgiving time. Prime factorization is the key. Students will choose their own number. They will write the number in the wattle. They will then use the feathers for the prime factorization. They will write the prime number on each feather. After writing the prime number they will place (glue) the feathers around the turkey as the tail. On the turkey body they will write thier own Thanksgiving math word problem. Students will match the multiplication factors with the product. The factors are on the front of the reindeer and the product is on the back of the reindeer. Students will find the sum and difference of fractional problems that include unlike denomnators and reduce. Once they find the answer they will find the letter that corresponds to that answer. This is a challenging activity. What does the turkey say at Thanksgiving?

Students will use these cards and sort the fraction word problem by the function (=, -, x, /) used to solve the problems. I found that one of the misconceptions my students had at the end of studying fractions was that they had a hard time deciding what function was used to solve the word problems. This helped my students a lot.
Collect Menus or look up local menus on the internet. This can be a center activity for at least a week or two. Students will round, estimate, and add/subtract. Tis is a common core activity. Students will be activity engaged in creating their own menu after analyzing menus given to them.
Here are provided BINGO cards fo rounding. All you have to do is call out a number ex 347 and the students will find the rounded number on their board. You can put this in a center or do rounding BINGO as a whole group.
Students will put the fractions in order from least to greatest. Then the will add all the fractions up to help Santa decide which set of reindeers to guide his sleigh. This is great activity around Christmas time. You can use this activity for review or even as a focus. If you find something wrong with this activity please let me know. This is an activity that finds parts of whole. I use this in a center for students after teaching finding parts of a whole in a mini lesson. Students love this activity becuse they get to use manipulatives.
