Students use their love of pizza to understand multiplication and division of fractions and wholes. Includes: Notes page, Situation Cards, Process Sheet, Basic Recording Sheet, and Answer Keys.

This product is going to help translate physical fraction tiles/manipulatives to a graphic on the paper. The kids will solve the fraction equations and then write equations to match the models. After that, I’m going to cross my fingers, burn some sage, and ask for good thoughts because I chose this standard as one of my TTESS Goals. *This could also be used as a matching game if you cut them up. I use this mat to introduce fraction and Mixed number sums with regrouping. This can be used whole group, small group, or as a reteach. I find it especially useful with kiddos that don't quite understand why we regroup. It only has denominators of 2, 4,and 8. I do, however, have the kids create other denominators using the given ones as an extension.
