Students use their love of pizza to understand multiplication and division of fractions and wholes. Includes: Notes page, Situation Cards, Process Sheet, Basic Recording Sheet, and Answer Keys.
This isn’t a fancy game or a deck of card tasks. IT’s a worksheet. It’s a worksheet where kiddos pick the model that matches the division expression. This was created in hopes of helping kiddos see the difference in the two modeling situations. It helped my kiddos make connections they hadn’t made previously, AND it kept me out of the expensive wrinkle cream aisle at the drug store.

This product is a great way to quickly assess student knowledge of order of operations without exponents. These task cards can be used during class, RTI, or station. I have provided QR Codes and a recording sheet/answer sheet so that students can self check! Please leave a comment and earn TPT credits!
Hey Guys!!
Who forgets to create an exit ticket sometimes? OR who has a total brain freeze and needs a good guiding question to promote student reflection? OR who likes for their students to ask each other guiding questions? Who is also loving a MARQUEE THEME, RIGHT NOW?!
These are Exit Ticket questions that can be used at the end of a subject class or at the end of a day in a community circle. I made them with my fancy Marquee Theme!

This product is used on the introduction day of multiplying unit fractions and whole numbers. It contains: Cloze Notes, Assignment (with 14 equations), Recording Sheet (if needed), and all answer keys.
You do have to provide your own fraction tiles (because let's be real... paper fraction strips don't last very long).
The assignment answer key is NOT in lowest terms because on day one I'm worried about the concept of repeated addition connecting to the multiplication of fractions.

This product is going to help translate physical fraction tiles/manipulatives to a graphic on the paper. The kids will solve the fraction equations and then write equations to match the models. After that, I’m going to cross my fingers, burn some sage, and ask for good thoughts because I chose this standard as one of my TTESS Goals.
*This could also be used as a matching game if you cut them up. This can be used in an individual or small group setting.
WARNING: This product was made on the fly! It worked great in my classroom today and the people asked... and here it is!
First: Spin for equation
Second: Fill in Thinking Mat using Dice and equation
Third: Find table that satisfies OTHER points not specifically graphed from the dice.
This was FABULOUS today!
I use this mat to introduce fraction and Mixed number sums with regrouping. This can be used whole group, small group, or as a reteach. I find it especially useful with kiddos that don't quite understand why we regroup. It only has denominators of 2, 4,and 8. I do, however, have the kids create other denominators using the given ones as an extension.
After we use the mat, we go back and work the equations arithmetically so that kiddos can see how the model relates to the "math".

Experience
This is my 10th year of teaching. I've taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math.
Teaching style
I would say that my teaching style is bold, but my actual activities are basic. I don't know how to use fancy fonts, but I do know how to entertain a classroom full of little beings with my fancy singing voice. #functional
