Great acronym to help writers cover all the parts of their short responses and get as many points as possible on state writing exams. Works well with CER or RACES.

Great way to introduce a selection of new books in a classroom library. Allow students to get into groups with a stack of books at each center. One person is the "timer" and sets the timer for 3 minutes per round. Students each get one book and the timer is set. They must follow the "Preview Rules" of looking at the cover, looking at the back, and reading the first couple of pages in 3 minutes. This is part of the Student Data Folder. It is an area for students to reflect each week on reaching their goals. It provides a place for them to list what actions they did to reach their goal and what actions they didn't follow through on.

This is a tool to help students keep track of their own learning progress and assignments. It is in the Excel format so you may edit as needed. This has been a huge help with at-risk students and helping them learn the responsibility of keeping up with their own assignments and grades.
