About the store
I’m a 4th grade High Ability teacher with over 13 years of classroom experience. I currently teach in a self-contained high ability classroom, where I design and implement rigorous, creative, and differentiated lessons to challenge advanced learners. I’m passionate about creating engaging, standards-aligned units and resources that foster deep thinking, collaboration, and curiosity. Many of my lessons and projects have been classroom-tested and refined specifically for high-ability and upper-elementary students — but they’re adaptable for any classroom looking to push students’ critical thinking to the next level.

Animal Adaptations Research Project | Science & Writing | 4th Grade High Ability

Created by
Heather Veatch
Engage your students with this hands-on Animal Adaptations Research Project! Designed for 4th grade high ability learners — but easily adaptable for grades 3–6 — this project combines science, writing, and technology skills as students research an animal of their choice and design their own digital informational book using Google Slides or PowerPoint. Students will not receive pre-made slides — instead, they’ll use the included Research Guide to independently build and format each slide.
