Challenge your students to record the volume of objects from graduated cylinder readings. Within the game world storyline, Einstein has locked away a Sir Isaac Newton's armor in a safe. In order to find the safe's combination, students will take their values from the graduated cylinder readings. This quest includes three separate variations for differentiation. Quest- Metric Missions- That Equals What?
Challenge your students to review length, mass, and volume with the metric system in this race against the clock to save a poisoned Sir Isaac Newton! In this quest, students must complete three stations; one for length, one for mass, and one for volume. At each station, students review the basic units and tools for measuring that quantity while also comparing the English unit with the Metric unit for that quantity. Teaching style
For the last seven years I have created and implemented a Game-Based design approach to 8th grade general science. In addition to this, I have utilized Universal Design protocols and have incorporated aspects of the Flipped Classroom as well. My approach to education focuses on kinesthetic learners with project-based approaches. Underlying PBIS initiatives have been employed in my classroom as a companion to my teaching style.
