Summary vs. Analysis PPT and Practice
I've found that students really struggle going beyond summary. This lecture is intended to show a clear difference between summary and analysis by creating a definition for analysis, coming up with scenarios, identifying differences between examples, and looking at verbs. This PPT lecture has 11 slides, but it has "breaks" where students interact or participate (by answering the questions or coming up with examples). Help guide students through a text with these mini-bookmarks on literary criticism theories.

Teaching style
My teaching style is about building authentic connections and realistic skills. Students develop what I call a "toolbelt of strategies" that is applicable in their lives, careers, or other courses. Students also engage with the text, grammar, and writing in modern and meaningful ways in order to see English as something useful and relatable.
My research focus is in edutainment (specifically educational television, YouTube, and video) and linguistic diversity, inclusion, and acculturation (adapting methods to be ESL inclusive).
