Fun personality test to introduce students to the characters in Macbeth. Based on the format of personality quizzes that students have most likely done in their free time online or in magazines, this personality quiz has answers that align with one of five major characters in the play Macbeth (Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Banquo, Duncan, The Witches). This quiz is a fun way to have students find similarities with the characters in order to peak their interest, and to see how these characters are not o
This is a great activity to help students become familiar with the layout and format of the actual text of Shakespeare's Macbeth. It has students looking through all of the preface and background information, as well as the first scene in Act 1 to understand all of the parts of a Shakespearean play. This activity can be done in groups or individually. I used it after reading 1.1 and discussing the scene, and had students finish it for homework. Answer key is included.

This is a fun and creative assignment to have your students get involved with Shakespeare's Macbeth. It blends the drama classroom with the English classroom for a better understanding of Macbeth as a play. I used Act 3 for this assignment, but it could be adapted for use with any Act from the play. I suggest first assigning groups of students a scene from the Act that you have chosen, as well as assigning each student a character in that scene (Or you could have students choose their own groups
