About the store
I have taught agriculture in both Tennessee and Kentucky, and enjoyed every minute of it! I have had to run school farms, greenhouses, and shops, so I know how chaotic life for an agriculture teacher can be.
I have taught multiple different courses in the animal science, horticulture science, and agribusiness pathways. This wide variety of course experience has given me the benefit of creating a library of materials for a multitude of different courses within agricultural education.

This four part project allows you to assign students a species of livestock or companion animals, a number of animals, and the purpose of the animals and have your students work in groups to develop a high-quality feed ration. It asks students to make choices related to roughages verses concentrates, supplements, and justify their choices. This assignment was a wonderful addition after learning about animal nutrition. It allowed the students to apply what they had learned.

This activity requires students to select and research 4 different models of tractor. It asks them to identify different characteristics of a tractor, such as the years the model was produced, original cost, type of hitch and PTO, different variants, engines, and transmissions, as well as and the total number of the tractor produced. Small Animal Nutrition/Digestion Study Guide
This is the study guide I used in my Small Animal Science course. It covers monogastric, ruminant, and poultry digestive systems, the purpose of different nutrients, and some basic vocabulary related to animal science. This study guide is very in-depth, and requires the students to draw and label different systems, use a feed label to answer questions, and answer a total of 50 questions.

This is a thorough review of all aspects of digestion and nutrition for an equine science course. It includes the digestive system, colic, nutrition, and more. This is a detailed slideshow that goes over the parts of a greenhouse including the cooling and heating systems, ventilation, irrigation systems, flooring, etc. We do have a worksheet that follows along with it. I loved using this in my Greenhouse class before doing a greenhouse design project! This is a simple slideshow with limited graphics, so it can be easily printed and taped up for a Go-Get-It activity as well.

This is a six-part assignment NOT including the construction of the physical model. The planning includes the horses on the property, pastures, equipment, specialized items such as hot walkers, and design of a brand. After performing all of this planning, students must construct a physical model of the facility they have planned. I used this as a summative assessment, and I loved the amount of creativity that students were able to show as part of this project.

One thing I noticed when teaching about companion animals is that it can be difficult to come up with an engaging activity to teach about different pet birds. This project allows you to either assign bird species or let students brainstorm them, then they research the breed, create a presentation, and educate their classmates about it. The file also includes space to compare eight of the bird species after the students complete their own bird breed project.

This packet contains 27 questions about a species of plant. This is best used as a webquest, and it allows the students to gain in-depth knowledge about a particular species of plant. I used this when I operated a school greenhouse. It required students to do more than identify plants. They had to truly know them in order to complete the material. This also makes an excellent sub assignment, as they can complete this with basic instruction.

Determining a Horse's Rations Activity | Worksheet | Equine Science
This files includes a three page packet and two pages of scenarios that include a horse's name, weight, age, breed, current body condition score, and work level. The three pages are for students to answer multiple questions about three of these horses. You could expand or reduce that number based on student need. When I used this, my students had a lot of fun with the names I gave the horses. Hopefully, your students will get a kick out of it too!

Teaching style
As an agriculture teacher, I have often had to adjust plans on the fly due to dealing with the arrival (or escape) of livestock, unloading semi trailers for the principal, answering the phone for the 137th time of the day, meeting with local supporters, and doing everything that an agriculture teacher is expected to do on top of teaching.
Knowing how dynamic each day can be, I understand the need for materials that are simple to use. Everything I offer requires minimal prep work. Most items can be used in a digital format or printed, so it will work for our lucky 1:1 teachers and our old school paper ones! I even avoid color, since I know being able to use a color printer in a school is like finding a unicorn.
Everything I have is a reflection of my personal style, which requires flexibility. When your day makes a sudden detour, it's nice to have ready-to-use materials available in a pinch.
