Passé Composé vs Imparfait - Children's Stories - French - Classwork or Project

This is a task that asks students (in pairs) to examine a French language children's story (I have a collection of them in my classroom) using the passé composé and imparfait. If you do not have children's books available, you could find (or have them find) commonly available stories/fairy tales to work with. It's written as a project with a rubric, but how you use it is up to you!

This is a task that asks students (in groups of 2-3) to examine a movie they know well using the passé composé and imparfait. It's written in great detail so that it can be left as sub plans, but you could also do it during class time. In order for students to have unique movies, I've had them pick them and tell me what movie - but I have found that there are very rarely (if ever) duplicates when I don't take the extra step.

The project uses vocabulary regarding hobbies and pastimes, the present tense, and the ir+a future. There is a description and a rubric. It references "unit 4" which is from Vista Higher Learning's Descubre 1 - but this reference can easily be tweaked or removed.

I used this as an in-class project that relies on vocabulary on Vacations and Travel (our current unit) and hobbies and pastimes (our previous unit) - if your curriculum doesn't have them together, you may have to slightly tweak the language, but it would be simple to do. I typically introduce it at the end of class 1, they have all of class 2 to work on it and have me check their draft, and then they have some time during class 3, although we may have other tasks- I've also left it where duri

This is a mini project that asks students to research an outmoded technology (like fax machines, cassette tapes, etc.) and do a creative task from the time period of its invention as well as a modern-day historical contextualization of the technology. This project is guaranteed to make you feel old, but the students have really enjoyed it. However, I've had to explain that you could not watch TV on the first home computers because there wasn't residential internet in 1976 and that boom boxes

This is an activity I made based on the lesson concepts for Descubre 1 Leccion 7 - the chapter covers verbs like gustar (interesar, fascinar, faltar, molestar, aburrir, encantar), reflexive verbs, and indefinite and negative words. Page 1 describes the task which asks the students to make clues about a famous person and then present it for their peers to guess. I use this as an in-class task and so the rubric is more of a checklist. Page 2 - is a notes review on the three concepts. Pages 3 an
