This form is meant to be completed by students prior to conference night. This form has students reflect on their progress within the class including their effort, behavior and achievement. This can be edited for any subject and given to students in print or digital form. Included is a checklist for teachers to host a productive, efficient and successful parent teacher conference night.

The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas can drag on. This idea list keeps the weeks fun and exciting with a new science learning activity each day. This product is a compilation of state released questions organized by standard and domain (earth, life, and physical sciences). Questions are formatted into a slideshow with the answers in the speaker notes along with an explanation or rational. This can be used as a whole class, in team, or given independently. Additionally, parts of this slideshow can be dissected to use at the end of each unit or used altogether to prepare students for state testing.

This activity is a cooperative, cross-curricular game that reinforces the composition of each layer of the atmosphere. Students compete with their classmates in teams to complete missions as a new start up company capable of space travel. This lab can be used with the digital simulation link for students to investigate the key properties of an electromagnet and what variables affect their strength such as core material, size of batteries, strength of batteries, length of rod, and number of coils. Additionally, students independently investigate using the simulation circuit by manipulating various variables and relate electromagnets to real life.

This document is intended to be cut apart and shuffled. For durability consider laminating. Students match the physical characteristics and properties of each layer to the proper layer name. Additionally, students can organize the layers in order from closest to farthest. This can be used as a center or station activity, formative assessment, or summative assessment.

This activity guides students through choosing and explaining a natural phenomena created by plate tectonics. In this activity students will research and take notes on the phenomena and curate the information into a poster that can be shared with the class or the teacher to demonstrate their understanding of plate boundaries and the causes of geological formations and phenomena.

This lab, themed on items that glow, contains multiple activities for students to participate in. This is could be used as a fun way to learn about fluorescence and phosphorescence or as an incentive. I use this lab as a reward after state testing. There are enough activities to fill two 50 minute class periods. I typically led students through all the activities one day except part 4. The next day, I would let them explore part 4 after giving them a glowstick and mini black light flash light. I

These slides highlight a fun demonstration to do with science students around Halloween involving dry ice. Dry ice can typically be purchased from local grocers. Please be advised and aware of safety regarding handling. These experiments are meant to be teacher led/directed with students watching and aiding with not student direct contact with the dry ice. Various activities are outlined in the slides and the accompanying speaker notes.
