This is a Criteria B & C summative assessment for Grade 7 (MYP2). I use it after finishing the Numbers skills unit, at the beginning of the Algebra Unit. The current task was used as a summative Criteria C & D task for the unit Geometry for Grade 9 (MYP4). The students were allowed to work on the task for two consecutive classes, for a total period of 180 minutes. The uniqueness of the nature of the solution required allowed students to complete this task from home, since it was created during the time of online learning (2020). This is a classroom activity, a guided graphic organizer towards proving Pythagoras' Theorem, one of the first activities students complete as part of the deductive geometry topic. Suitable for grades 8 and 9 (MYP3 or MYP4).

I made this resource for MYP2, Grade 7 students, but it could also be used for Grade 6 or 8, depending on the curriculum used. This is meant mostly for ESL students and is meant to help them make use of the vocabulary regarding conversions, so they can eventually express themselves in words when explaining the conversions.
