Computer Science - Ciphers, binary and algorithms [Grades 3, 4, 5]
I believe in learning through making, discovery and personal projects. Children learn best when they are invested in what they are learning and discovering for themselves. This computer science course lets children discover computer science concepts for themselves. Children try to crack codes and come up with their own cyphers. Computer thinking is also introduced by thinking how you would instruct a computer to make a cup of tea (see intro video). The lessons involve a lot of "learning by doing

Shapes - Designing a rocket [Grades 3, 4, 5]
I believe in learning through making, discovery and personal projects. Children learn best when they are invested in what they are learning and discovering for themselves. This shapes course allows children discover the concepts of 2d and 3d shapes for themselves - with a little help along the way. Children are introduced to the different 2d and 3d shapes, sides, edges, vertices and nets. They are then asked to design 2-3 space rockets; using what they've learnt about shapes (see intro video). Fractions Basics - Splitting up a rocket's fuel tanks [Grades 2, 3, 4]
I believe in learning through making, discovery and personal projects. Children learn best when they are invested in what they are learning and discovering for themselves. This fractions basics course allows children discover the concepts of fractions with a little help along the way. Children learn about halves, quarters, thirds and how fractions go in between numbers. Students also learn about space fuel and think about how they can use what they have learnt about fractions to design the fuel

Teaching style
I'm a strong believer in learning through making and discovery. I try and let the child take charge and direct their own learning by creating learning activities that are part of a larger project.
By letting the child take pride in what they're making you really begin to engage them in whatever you're teaching.
My own education history
When I was 4 years old I went to a Steiner School for a year. A Steiner School allows children to learn at their own pace and tries to make learning as fun and exciting as possible.
Now, I'm been fascinated with how can make learning better for all students across the world.
