The following was created to accompany the NGSS standard: MS-ESS2-2. Construct an explanation based on evidence for how geoscience processes have changed Earth’s surface at varying time and spatial scales. It takes real data from earthquakes and has students use their understanding of the earth to apply reasoning behind it. This is a short supplementary activity that would be a great accompaniment to a unit on Plate Tectonics or Earthquakes. Could easily be used for assessment of student unders

This is a simple Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning activity that requires students to think about the time it takes each planet to rotate the sun. It is a great addition to the NGSS Standard: MS-ESS1-3. Analyze and interpret data to determine scale properties of objects in the solar system.
