About the store
I started out teaching PK-3 in a small district.I loved the way my little ones saw the world full of endless possibilities. After four years I moved up to teaching 1st grade at the same school, and I loved it as well. Now I taught kids that could actually understand what I was asking them to do! After seven years of teaching I married and moved to a larger district. I've been teaching 2nd grade ever since. At this age I'm really getting to see their unique personalities develop.

Please Note: This packet includes some graphics that are wrong on purpose to keep your kids paying attention and encourage discussion. Some of the graphics can even be argued as both being correct and incorrect. If you do not want to use these pages, I've also included pages without numbers where the graphics are blank that you can use instead. To truly prepare our kids for the future, we have to teach them to think. To truly prepare our kids for the future, we have to teach them to think. Not every question has just one right answer. This can be very frustrating for kids, so the sooner we prepare them for this, the more comfortable they will be. This packet is based on a problem-solving training I attended. These problems are open-ended, meaning there can be more than one right answer. These problems are meant to be challenging and inspire deeper levels of thinking and discussion between students. My plan for this tracker packet is that the kids will use it during stations with the matching Boom Cards I created, but you can also use it with your own activities. My kids will start with the first page and when they score a 100 on the activity, they move on to the next one. This allows the kids to work at their own pace. I always keep manipulatives like rekenreks and ten frames available in my classroom for the kids to use as needed. If they get stuck on a page then I c

Experience

After four years I moved up to teaching 1st grade at the same school, and I loved it as well. Now I taught kids that could actually understand what I was asking them to do! Teaching style

About six years ago I realized all of the fun and creativity had been taken out of learning and I began looking for ways to change this. This has taken me on a personal journey of hands-on activities, STEM, Genius Hour, critical thinking activities, raising the rigor, and Blended Learning. Last year in particular I found myself having to create tons of resources because I wasn't finding what I needed to help my kids. I'm starting this store because I want to help other teachers who want to put fun and creativity back in the classroom.

My own education history

I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Psychology. Once I realized I wanted to become a teacher I went through a great alternative certification program with Region 6 in Texas.
