Welcome to my Learning Space! I am an educator with 15 years teaching experience . I have been a classroom teacher and coach, as well as a researcher/teacher in a student thinking project. I believe in arming our students of all abilities with the powerful tool of using their voice in order to take ownership over their learning. As educators, our work starts at the thinking displayed at our students' desks first, through their own eyes. I know when teachers seek to make student thinking visible, and are open to learning about how students think, they will effectivel facilitate student achievement in all areas.

This is a great self reflection strategy learners can use to identify for themselves how to start a task, and to monitor their own progress toward completion. This strategy is useful for those learners who simply do not know how or where to begin, but do have valuable ideas. Use a scaffold and structure to move along our learners towards independent work.
