I began my teaching career in 1998. I have worked with students from kindergarten to 5th grade. I have also worked as a Library Media Specialist, and a Dyslexia Therapist. I love being able to say that, EVERYONE is my student. I love inspiring students to appreciate the love of learning. Hopefully, this will be my legacy to them.

Math Night Scavenger Hunt
Are you looking for a simple idea for your school's math event? I used this activity during our school's math night. Students were invited to complete the hunt with their invited guests. Students had fun applying the math skills. As an added bonus, I offered small incentives to everyone who finished the task and larger prizes for first finishers and best estimators. You can adapt this activity and do it during a classroom math lesson as well!

Clifford the Big Red Dog Comprehension
This is set of 3 student reproducible comprehension activities to be used with CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG. This works well in literature circles or guided reading (level k) groups. Skills include inferencing, writing, and supporting opinions based upon the text.

Trix Mix Cereal Math Level 1
This activity provides a fun and tasty way to review a variety of math skills! Students will use Trix cereal as a manipulative to practice estimation, comparing numbers, addition and subtraction algorithms, and graphing. Manage your "30 Minutes a Night" reading homework with this reading log. This monthly reading log can be copied double sided. It has space for meaningful interaction with the text and space for a parent signature. Management Tip: I use a file folder and staple each monthly sheet inside on top of previous sheet.

Teaching style
I believe in a simple recipe for student success. Show a personal interest in every student, motivate students to learn with engaging lessons, and remember that students will not rise to low expectations.

I received my Bachelor's degree in teaching from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. I received my Masters in Library Science degree from Texas Woman's University.
