Dr. A. Fernandez brings classroom experience spanning 2nd grade through 8th grade, with her professional focus rooted in middle school. She has taught 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies, as well as Reading, Sheltered English, and English Language Development. Dr. Fernandez holds both a Multiple Subject Credential and a Single Subject Credential in English. She earned a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Teaching and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership before completing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), grounding her classroom practice in both instructional expertise and leadership theory.

Dr. Fernandez has taught using English 3D and CollegeBoard’s SpringBoard Pre-AP curriculum, supporting both language development and college-preparatory rigor in secondary classrooms.
She currently teaches 8th Grade ELA and Honors ELA using the Collections curriculum, integrating close reading, academic discourse, and standards-aligned writing into daily instruction.
